Will I really notice a difference between a 5ms response time and a 2ms response time?

For every day use? For gaming?

Some people say you can, but I don't believe so. :/

People say you can but the average person with the average response time that the brain can pick up will not notice a difference. I have had both kinds and you can not tell a single difference, well I cant atleast and I game almost every night or watch movies.

A good 2ms monitor will show the difference, like an LG 227WTG, but a good 5ms will be very close.

Im debating between 2 monitors, one is going on sale next week for alot less. Theyre the new Acer H2 line, the H233H and the H243H, one being a 23" and one being a 24" the difference between the two is the 5ms response time on the 23" and the 2ms response time on the 24".

In canadian dollars, the 24" is 379.99, and the 23" is 279.99 going on sale for 229.99 next week. and im debating between the two as per that difference, which is the ONLY ONE, surprisingly....

What do you guys think?

No, these advertised response times are not accurate. Measured average response time is much much higher, between 20-40ms for most monitors.

so no difference would be seen? so it would be alot smarter to go with the smaller one and save the money?

Manufacturers don't use a standard method for response time measurement. Some advertised 8ms monitors show better motion performance than some advertised 2ms monitors.

I'm not sure because I can't view those links. It asks me for a Canadian postal code.

You really need to research the monitor. Shopping for LCDs is the hardest piece of hardware you will ever research. Most of them you can't find enough info on, and all of them are a compromise in some way. I spent months before I made my decision and I still stand by it - no regrets. Though I would much prefer a 24-30" DLP, it would be superior to LCD in almost every single way.
