AMD Phenom - 4x 1GB RAM or 2x 2GB RAM?

I've got two Phenoms (Phenom 9850BE; Phenom II 940BE) running on 790FX chipsets.

Which RAM-configuaration works better with the Phenom?

4x 1GB RAM or 2x 2GB RAM

Doesn´t matter unless you are going to run DDR2-1066, then recommended is 2x2 for DDR2-1066.

BUT a lot of people are running 4 sticks at 1066 successfully, that is with Phenom II.

I´m not sure on Phenom I, or if it´s the same.

I've been running 4 x 2GB sticks of DDR2-1066 fine with my Phenom 9600 BE
