SERIOUS problem. Please help. X58 related.

I'm running a R2E chipset with an i7 965.

6GB of Corsair 1866 ram.


Upon entering windows, I have a serious issue. The system immediately eats up all of my memory. 99% in under a minute.

This occurs at default and overclocked settings. I can't figure out what it is, please assist, thanks in advance.

Software issue.

Can you go into task manager and see what process is eating up the RAM?

I've heard this one before.

My bet is something Nortons Security like antivirus and it is taxing your svchost.exe

Like CodeNinja says, look at your Processes tab in Task Manager, you can click the CPU header twice to bring most intensive to the top. The one you should see most is System Idle Process.

On a lesser thought, it could be windows error reporting process.
