Disk Cleanup files discarded by windows upgrade quesion.

I had to do a repair on my vista because something after an install messed it all up. After the install I went into the disk cleanup and it shows 5.67 GB to discard if I want. How can I tell what is in there to discard? I don't want to get rid of anything I need. At this time I can't seem to find anything missing but I have so much stuff it will take a while to notice I guess. Anyone?

Disk Cleanup typically allows you to see check boxes for what will get discarded. Deleting the Temp files and cookies on the machine, and emptying the recycle bin is typically enough.
