i have had zero success in determining the proper oil return rate for my oil separator. i have the flow restricted to 5ml per minute @ 150psi. i will be using it on my 2nd stage with a 1/2hp rotary. is there a rule of thumb or any reccomendations from all the guru's.....

thanx in advance for any help

In general, most oil seps are not constantly feeding oil back but either have a float or a cycle with a ball/hand valve or solenoid valve. I have heard of some using a non floated oil sep also as a hot gas bypass, as i guess some refrigerant passes through so it may be best to just have it very unrestrictive with a hand valve or something.

just my $.02 perhaps its not correct.

cheers!

Easiest to just use a solenoid. Flick of a button and you suck all the oil out.
