Trying to decide if the deluxe is worth the added expense, and then if the v2 is preferable over the original version. Any advice?
Thanks.

Nevermind about the v1 v v2 question-- looks like the v2 just doesn't have the SAS support for $10 cheaper.

P6T has only 8+2 PMW and lacks the SAS.
If you want SAS, that's a deal killer. Otherwise it's got pretty much exactly the same BIOS and OC options and doesn't seem to have the cold-start issues the V1 P6T Deluxe had. It's also got a slightly better layout if you want to run tri-SLI, since there is enough space between the PCIE slots for a real cooler. I don't think the 8+2 PMW on the vanilla P6T is gonna hurt it much, 4Ghz is pretty easy, although I'm running 3.2 right now since I haven't had much time to fiddle with it.
Oh, and the Express Gate feature isn't installed on an onboard flash drive like it is on the P6T Deluxe, instead it's on the hard disk if you decide to install it. I didn't.
It's also, IMO, a better looking board :)

That's just the plain P6T, mine's labeled in one corner as the "P6T Green", but no one ever calls it that.

wow..never thought it looks the same board like the P6T deluxe one ...only different on SAS ??? ughh, ASUS always release something that considered "renew" with slightly different. really waste..
The P6T vanilla also has Skt 775 mounting holes, so you can re-use your old cooling if you wish :)
Great if you have a Skt 775 watercooling kit or TRUE etc.

I don't think you can use a s775 backing plate with s1366 so there would probably be some issues in that regard but push pin or non backing plate hs's should be fine.

I'm not sure I can picture how push pins would be any different than going to a backplate... it's the same holes...

Because of the built in backplate on X58 motherboards.
