interesting isnt it?
has anybody played this?
havent heard anything about this game...
the graphics look very weird... the textures look like they are really low color depth... is this a console port?
does anybody think the textures have to do with the better tripple xfire scaling?
there was a recent article on xbit comparing sli and xfire where tripple xfire barely scaled at all in most games over normal xfire.

I've played the game. Only on one 4870 though. The graphics are definitely different than other games. My card struggles with all settings on max but the graphics are rather nice when playing the game.

really? the screenshots look very weird... similar to WOW, but somehow console like with washed out textures
actually crossfire and sli are geometry and somehwat texturing limited iirc, the only thing that scales linearily is shader power
so then that means this game is very shader intense and geomtery and textures arent stressting the limits?
doesnt look shader intense on the screenshots hmmm are there a lot of lightning effects or motion blurr etc?

It's a console port and AFAIK it's cell-shaded.

I've played the game for reviews and screenshots don't do the game justice. Everything really must be viewed in motion, still captures make it look funky.

Game is really fun and graphics are a prize :) As above screenshots don't do the game justice, it looks amazing in motion. The cell shading really works well for PoP.
It's only DirectX9c, and Dunia engine doesn't need big horsepower to push the game. There's a lot of lighting effects definitely, blur I can't recall though. It plays maxed out on a GTX280 at 1920x1200 with plenty of headroom to spare.
Heres a couple of screenshots I found in my Fraps folder!

I have tried using 4870 CF when playing that game, and it didn't doing well, I'm using cat 9.1 . It still didn't run very smooth on 1920 X 1200 all max setting.

It scales so well because this is not the Dunia engine.
PoP (new) uses a modified version of the Scimitar engine, found in Assassin's Creed, which is based on the (renderer-modified, core retained) modified Unreal Engine 2.5 that powered Splinter Cell Double Agent and Chaos Theory.
They've come a long way, but at the base there should be quite some stuff that's common with UE2.5/2.0, which makes it AFR-superduper friendly.

My bad. Thought it used Dunia. You don't need 2 gpus for this game anyway, perhaps at 2560x1600 but otherwise definitely not.

You guys who say this game runs bad must being doing something wrong. I can max this out 4x/8x 1920x1200 without any dips in framerate with the specs in my sig. I beat the game about a month ago. It was pretty good, but the story should have just been ripped completely out of the game. It's a complete joke and the presentation (of the plot) is trivial just asking me to skip through it constantly. I won't even get into the ending of the game. It made me feel like I didn't accomplish :banana::banana::banana:, I have no idea what they were thinking. It was fun, and very beautiful to look at though.

Anyone try this game with the ATI CrossFire Xtension? it can be downloaded here: http://www.geeks3d.com/?p=3292 Apparently it helps increase fps

Unfortunately they dropped the ball after Sands of Time, that game is legendary if you ask me. They tried to change stuff and take stuff and introduce stuff and it didn't quite work out, with each subsequent game.
QTEs?
