Nice! Anyone try these with GTA4?

Edit: Didn't seem to make a difference with GTA4, but it's not running worse. Memory leak is still there.

Not that i'm complaining, but pretty weird to still be getting driver tweaks for such old games as HL2!

Im going to hope that was just an added benifit from driver optimizations for L4D. I hope they didn't go out of their way to tweek their drivers for HL2.

if its any use i am seeing at least a 40% increase in performance with these drivers, it is now 780 FPS

GeForce 182.05 put to the test

Have no fear everyone, a new GeForce driver is here, and although one of our sentinels was caught off guard, the little green rascal has already been apprehended and taken to the arena to battle its kind for our twisted enjoyment. The newcomer, named GeForce 182.05 according to its dog tags, is the first driver to come bundled with the version 9.09.0203 PhysX software and apparently is a friend of Alma, the frightening female presence in Monolith's F.E.A.R. series. Taking on the young WHQL candidate will be the ambient occlusion-loaded GeForce 185.20 leaked beta and the latest WHQL-certified release, the GeForce 181.22. Nvidia's claim is that the GeForce 182.05 delivers performance increases of up to 11% over the 181.22 in certain games so the main focus of the comparison will be difference between these two drivers, without neglecting the almost classic 185.20 of course. For those wondering, no, the GeForce 182.05 doesn't have the ambient occlusion option in the Control Panel which leaves the 185.20 as the only release with such a feature...........

Reading that report it looks like the 185.20's are still king. I wonder how long before the official beta release of those 185's are?

182.06 are really superb drivers or then the XG tweaks are doing exceptionally well for these drivers. Tried UT3, L4D, TES4: Oblivion and 3DMark06 so far and scored my personal best 06 score, 14.426 with config in my sig which is roughly 100 points higher than usual with other fast drivers (almost 15k with a 4GHz E8400 and mediocre 8800GT clocks ain't bad :p). I've tried all the 18x.xx drivers incl 185.20, 181.2x and 182.05 BETA and the 182.06 at least for me, is the the driver with best performance so far.

Yeah, yeah, but did they fix the CRASHES on vista x64?

that 182.06 driver killed my second life program completely, Now I have to figure it out how to get it back.. after several reboots, etc. nothing is working. was working 100% just fine before I installed it. was fast to download 77 MB off their servers tho. but its causing a major pain in the ass.

Of course they don't. They make generalized optimizations, and if performance gains show up in a particular game in their test suite, of course they'll advertise that.

depending on the resolution and aa/af settings, and they tested with 285 and 295, so older cards probably wont scale as much.

unfortunately, 0 boost in 3dmark :(

very impressive i must say!
weird how they didnt create any can of whoop4ss hype for this driver :D

You can allways hope. :) I was mostly looking to see if there was any general improvements in GTA4 which, of course, there was not. But at least performane was not worse and in GTA4 that is a win. The game just needs a major patch. All in all seems like a solid driver.

Fixed hitching in L4D - that was my only concern :D

*to be more clear, drivers released AFTER 178.24 caused sound looping/hitching - heck it looked like you were crashing almost. These drivers are the first since the 178.24 not to exhibit that behavior.
