I have a q66, on a p35ds3l mobo.

i turned my pc on this morning and noticed the ram was at 534..and was like wtf.. went into bios.and noticed all settings were correct. loaded it up again and still 534. i thought it was the ram at first..so i check the ram multi. it works. then i checked the cpu multi..it works. all bios adjustments i checked register in cpu-z and pc wizard except for the FSB.. its capped at 267. i tried running fsb at 270, 300, 333 and 400 with ample cpu voltage and a +.01 on the fsb volts. no luck..its stuck..

anyone heard or seen or had this happen to them before??

Weird....I don't know anything about that motherboard but sounds like the PLL IC might be frozen?

Try a HARD power off (with the power supply switch, NOT with the case button); this should completely reset everything.

I've seen crashes when trying to use soft FSB tools in windows where the PLL locks hard and then the RESET button' doesn't even work anymore ,and powering off the computer and back on just gives a black screen....

If this doesn't work after a hard power off, try clearing CMOS (The right way is to unplug/turn off the PSU before putting cmos jumper on clear, or pressing the clear cmos button if your board has one).

thanks..i shudda tried what you said.. but i just reflashed the f8 bios and it worked. thanks alot..i should def try a cmos reset next time. now i have to go and redo all my saved settings for summer and winter. oh well. this never happened before so i guess kinda freaked out and posted too early. i shudda done a little more troubleshooting before posting.

i never used soft fsb tools.. i hear they don't work too well with intel chipsets.
