I've just gotten the mobo and would like to find out from those who have it for some time which is the best bios for it, and if there are any special way it should be flashed?

The 1003 is final and has multiplier and Vcore adjustments, the 1004.1 is beta. When you flash, just make sure you flash with the .exe file thats with it.

I tried 1003 and 1004, I've completely lost the vcore option which was present with shipped bios....
Well, I'll be relying on the voltage mod anyways but it sux not to have it in bios. Even the multiplier. So I can use clockgen to change multi?

Nope...clockgen works off of an external pll...the controller on hte FX is on-chip, so you have to do it the old fashioned way :D

ok, that is crap then, how the hell do I flash to get the multis and vcore?? I dont understand why my vcore disappears with a bios flash even though i ran the exe file. Its the FX51, not opteron too.

yup, clockgen or crystalcpuid work ok for multi, FSB is another thing obviously ;)

Ah, that was what I meant, as long as I can use those softwares to adjust multipliers, the lack of it in bios wont kill me :)
Jason, I dunno, I'm just gonna try some stuff I'm reading at amdforums right now.

BTW,
If you were thinking of booting and posting at 11 x 225 (for example) for 2475, and then switching the multi on the desktop to 13 for 13 x 225 = 2925.... doesn't work :D it resets fsb to 200 :(

Did you make sure the patch that comes with the zipped BIOS was on the floppy?

I have used 1003.006 and now 1004.001 and have always had both vcore and multi (even only). Make sure you are using a final 1002 or 1003 to rename the other in. Clear the cmos first and try it again. Somethings going wrong. Have you looked in all the sub catagories in the bios?

Oh by the way, you need board ver. 1.3 for this to work right.

Yes, I have all those conditions fulfilled. Charlie, if I switch to 13x, then reboot, the 13x should stick and I can set FSB via bios again?
Anyways, I've done all the vmods on the board, VDimm, VCore, VDD, VLDT and VAGP. But.......
