Welcome to XS.

That's a very good cpu you have there, that's going to be fun to clock. Nice work.

Oh and your english seems fine, it's certainly way better than my italian ;)

Thanks for the welcome if I am sending you a link to an Italian forum where you can post you the results that I add ...

Can I?

Looks like you got a nice chip... how much vcore does it need to run 4.5/stable?

You can post the link here in this thread.

And that's a pretty nice looking chip you have there :yepp:

The Italian forum where we talk about overclocking the E8600 is this:

Your Welcome Simonix here in Xtreme Systems.
I am also Italian and HWUpgrade User.

Ciao Simonix

Ci si ritrova in qualunque Forum. Ne ho visti un paio dei user di HWUP qui. :D

4.5 ghz at 1.2v on air.....
Has anyone here come close to that? O_O...

Ozzfest05
02-21-2009, 12:32 PM
my chip ran 4.4 ghz at 1.18 volts and ran 1M and so on 4.5 at 1.2 isnt much increase the question is, is it stable, 32M 3d benches which it is most likely not going to run but I could be wrong

Yeah I don't think that 4.5 ghz chip will do linpack at 1.2v.
On phase yeah, but not on air...

An the loser is : I have to put 1,43v to get 4,5 stable :( (no work on GTL ^^)

Imo that mobo isn't like mine or what ! Stress it please...may be we have the Platinium One

If it's real, what about some cold on it ?

It won't stay that way for long.
E8600s wear out quick.
You'll be droppin' that OC down in a couple of weeks.

he is trying to say they degrade and in some sense that maybe true however not in the way he is speaking of I find over time max OC may degrade but if your contantly runing your chip at a certain speed and voltage it wont suddenly become unstable after a while and need more voltage I have had mine at 4.5 ghz for 24/7 use for 6 months ive benched it at higher speeds and voltage and still its rock solid.

your fine.. that is the BEST batch of 8600 out thier lucky dogg!
1.40 is all eye would give it with air tho seems temps kill more than volts do so keep it cool ;)

anyways good clocking and welcome to XS!

been looking for that batch myself :slobber:

Well that's my own experience too... 4.2-4.5Ghz daily stable with good cooling... benchable around 4.8-5Ghz... I had 2 E8600's till now and none got worse for daily clocks... but always looking for more  and the rest of the wolfies also ave been good to me ( besides some bad high voltage ones lol )

People are still messed up by this degredation thing... many users run their duallies over 1.36Vcore and over the rest of Intel specs... no idea why he made that claim...as I assume the OP isn't intending to run this CPU over 4.5Ghz daily... just for benching he will go further :D

nice cpu! :)

I also have a nice E8600 with Q822A435 batch (VID 1,1875)
with vdroop ~1,44v cooled by mach II GT

ah ok , but for me stress the cpu more...

Try a 64bit OS for more reliable results with IBT... but anyway a georgous CPU mate, good find !!
