These seem great value cards to me, can pick em up for £130 and they are about the same as a 9600XT but with the AIW capabilities. They have the same clock speeds as the 9800Pro and you can softmod them to make them into 9800Pros by unlocking the extra 4 pipelines. Obviously not all will softmod but its a pretty high success rate. I got myself a 9800Pro AIW for 160, as you can imagine - I'm quite happy.
Now to volt mod :D

WB from tek has one for me that will softmod, im picking it up this afternoon so ill be back with details later on.
How is yours overclocking?
I wonder if this new card will be better than my current pro..

At the moment not amazing, 430 on the core and 360 mem. Thats with stock cooling though. Shame the memory is 3.3ns not 2.8s like on my year old 9700Pro :( I reckon the core is good for 500 when watercooled and voltmodded but I doubt the memory will go much above 380ish.
I got a Connect3D 9800 SE AIW @ pro.
Core isn't a good one. Only got little above 400 MHz with stock cooling. With watercooling 420 MHz. Vmod (1.88V) + watercooling 450 MHz. These are artifact free and 24/7 clocks. Mem (Samsung 3.3ns) will do above 360 MHz.
I'm a little dissapointed on the core, but shouldn't complain. :D
These cards are great value for your money, if it works @pro.

From the 5 herc 9800se's I tried to softmod, none was perfect. 3 had artifacts in 2d, the other 2 had very tiny white pixels around the woman's head in the troll demo of 3dmark03. I kinda gave up hope to find a perfect one that mods well without compromising the visual quality.

Right now I'm playing around with it's remote wonder and myHTPC (http://myhtpc.net/) and I like it a lot. I'm able to control my entire PC with just it's remote, and even enabling and disabling the tv-out funtion works with a touch of a button.

I've had 16 of these now, 8 softmodded, although Holst just killed the one I gave him ;) LOL, only joking m8!
I just got mine watercooled and VGPU modded(1.85v now) today and I've got the core upto about 480MHz artifact free. Memory does between 360 and 370MHz, really need RAMsinks though, RAM is way way too hot!
BTW, all the softmoddable cards I've had have all done about 400MHz on the core and 360MHz on the RAM. There is little difference between them.
