Whats the best design for a SS accumulator?

I have been using copper pipe with end caps and a hole drilled in the center but am wondering if it might accumulate better if I drilled a hole in the side of the pipe at the end by the end cap.

LOL I really didnt think it was a tough question :)

Based on the lack of responses Im going to make the assumption that im best to simply stick with a 1inch diameter copper tube with end caps and holes drilled in the end caps for a straight pass through.

It's more of an issue of a ton of ways to build them and everyone having their own preference. For ease of use I prefer 1" copper pipe with a straight passthrough but to be most effective I like coiling two to three feet of capillary tubing inside the accumulator and angling the accumulator with a slight slant. Other designs feature oil return pipes with holes up top for vapor, just straight vertical expansion chambers like on rotary compressors, and miniature heat exchangers used to subcool the refrigerant.

One on the side note. Sdumper, can you please stop spamming with new threads? Please make a new topic about your single-stage units, just like everyone else has (teyber for his cascade, LD & Kayl for their SS/cascades, etc.. etc..).

No offense dude, but this is getting out of control :)

Best Regards,
N.

Moderator can you please close/delete this thread?

I will ask the question in my current build thread.
