Well, after countless timing and voltage configurations, I have decided to return my Mushkin Blk PC3500. I could barely get 210fsb at cas 2.5 (1:1). Do you think it was just bad luck with these sticks or should I try another brand that uses BH5? I could use the extra memory speed as I'm currently running Corsair XMS PC3700 (3-3-3-8 1:1) in my A64 system.
Thanks

well the a64 boards seam to be really picky about the memory they use.
the chaintech LOVES the mushkin.pc3500level II
and i tried .
hyperX pc3500
hyperX pc4000
OCZ pc3500 dual gold
twinmos pc3200 w/bh5
ADATA pc4000
Geil pc3500
but the Gigabyte didnt love the mushkin.as of right now the
OCZ pc3500 dual gold is doing the best.but i havent finished
trying the rest yet.
for some reason with the onboard chip controller it goes by the memory on chip setting more than anything.
which makes using any certain stick of memory a pain....
I am lucky i like to keep the entire selection

Positive it was Level II stuff.. I tried each 512mb stick at at time even.. both had the same results.

I have heard from someone else that has tested over 6 different DDR sticks in his K8V-D. He couldn't get it stable until he got some Mushkin PC3500 LVL II. He is running two 512MB sticks of the Mushkin now in his Athlon 64 rig. Not sure all what he tested, but I know he tried Corsair XMS3500C2 512MB as well. I'd say try to get your hands on some of the lvl II stuff instead of the lvl I stuff your using now DeathMonk.

HeHe. Must have posted at the same time.
I don't think my friend was trying to run the Mushkin very fast. 210Mhz 2-2-2-5 I believe at default volts. I have been trying to get him to push it harder to see what the modules can do.
