If more unreleased hardware comes down the pipe, maybe 40K ;)

Congrats Fugger!

But 284 x what? 15? for 4260mhz?

Anyway, great score!
And I was so happy with my new 3.2...
:)

And done with a Max3, great job, show the people it's not all poop with that board :toast:

talking about incredible amounts of cash to get higher scores ,why does nobody bench on a dual opteron board? 2 240s outperform a 148 afaik :D

Dual Processor systems never did anything for 3DMark.....

3Dmark is single threaded.

Sayaa isn't serious with that remark in that way I think.

But yea, it's very expensive stuff.
But well, if I had it I would spend it too :)

if i had millions of dollars i still wouldnt buy a P4ee... its simply not worth the money, its the last of its kind, upgraded to the last to keep up long enough before intel fixed the prescott.

i really wonder wonder why intel never released a 3.4 or 3.6ghz  a lot of chips can run 3.4ghz with their default vcore so whats the deal?

If Intel cannot get Prescott ironed out in time, I wouldn't rule out another speed grade on the P4 just yet:)

Now quick, someone with crazy AMD/Raddy power step up and take it back!! Nice to see a score with all test's run at the top too.

looks like oppainter might be trying to get it back, as he has hit 28k in the last few hours: clicky (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7178028) :)

he has already said that that is just about as good as it wil get for a64

as much as I would like p4ee, I have to ask myself, isnt my current rig already fast enough?

yes, but if opp gets a 9800XT, he could probably get 28.2k28.3k. ya have to remember opp is running a 9800pro, while fugger has an XT, a slight advantage, but it is one none the less. fugger has gotten what, 590/424 out of his XT, and i since its an early one, i would be hard pressed to believe thats the highest that will be gotten out of one. i wouldnt be surprised to see someone get 610/440 out of it, and i wouldnt be surprised to see opp be the one to reach those speeds. ;)

then again, same could be said for the P4EE. ;)

isnt the xt just a pro with higher stock clock speeds?

saaya
11-01-2003, 05:09 PM
the xt has better memory.

i think intel doesnt release a 3.4 and 3.6 because it already has probs with its prescott at 3ghz, there have only been prescott 2.8 ES chips so far and they were running hot! since prescott doent perform a lot better than a P4 c at the same clockspeed they probably try to keep the northwood clockspeeds down because they wont be able to release a prescott 3.8 in less than 6 months, wich is what they would HAVE to do if they want people to get prescotts and not keep their northwoods.

moving to smaller manufacturing processes already becomes more and more dificult, all firms who switched to a smaller process had a lot of trouble and had to stretch their roadmaps. well except for ati who waited a long time for 130nm to mature.

i think history will repeat itself once again, the nortwood to prescott change will be like the coppermine to willamette change, the prescott will be a worse cpu than the nortwood and amd will have some time to shine with their cpus again.

if you see it that way the P4ee is just like the P3 tualatin wich had 512kb L2 cache instead of 256 so it could keep up with amds cpus at that time. a lot of parallels there :)

Prescott 2.66Ghz 533MHz fsb have also been spotted ;)

i wonder if that means a 90nm 2.4 800fsb? would that OC better, or worse then the 2.4c?

Pejsen
11-01-2003, 06:17 PM
Probably when released from Intel YES!

saaya
11-01-2003, 06:32 PM
its rumored that prescotts have problems with 200fsb, if this rumor turns out to be true itll make the prescott even worse. locked multi and it barely reaches 200fsb...

i dont get it, they had so much time to work on the prescott and they come up with a cpu that can only run a lower clockspeed and lower fsb than its predecessor while consuming more energy and running hotter :rotf:

I will be putting those rumor to rest soon.

I have information that the EE has been moved up to the front line and orderable soon (today) through Tech Data.

Prescott is also being released to the developers, I will have confirmation on speed grades very soon.

Next you will want proof?

http://fugger.netfirms.com/eeprice.jpg

initial speed 3.2Ghz for $966

Not going to happen. Prescott will be as low as 2.80Ghz.

It would be nice though. .09u silicon, 1.2v, 12 multi, imagine the overclockability.

FYI the lower Prescotts like 533mhz bus versions will be the Prescott Celerons.

fugger, that picture is to small for me to read... :(

Yea, I did not take the SS. It was compressed. Its the EE on Tech Data price sheet for $966.00 available for order.

Red text says "new" "Quantitiy on order"

P4 3.2GHZ EE 512K 2M 800FSB

price is green, meaning you can add to basket now.
