I don't know if this is even possible or if it's worth it but I got a Maximus II the other day and I hate the blue/white slots. I wanted to change them out to something like black/red like the bloodrage.

Is this possible? If it is where can I pick up the red/black slots.

Thanks in advance.

If this is in the wrong area please let me know also.

use a sharpie if you're that bothered

That is just so un-extreme I can't even begin to contemplate the possibility.

Do you really think a good sharpie would actually make them look nice and black and/or red viewable in an MM case? (Legitimate question)

Thanks ;)

if you have to ask whether or not this can be done, it's safe to say that you don't have the tools or experience to do it.

in short, it's possible, not worth anything near the effort.

Desoldering slots by hot air gun is common practice, but usually done on mainboards that are destined for trash :p:

In same trash you can easily find damaged mainboards with slots of desired color... so, there I would be looking for new slots.

I remember that back in old times, I need to change anged SIMM slots for straight up ones, so I went to specialists and they did it for me. Never got the guts to do it myself :p:
The board was a CPU card for Amiga, made by Phase 5 and it was a 233MHz Cyberstorm PPC dual CPU card (a 603e and 68060 present) and it was working well after that :D

Miracle :D
