View Full Version : motherboard and processor compatibility
I wanted to know if any motherboard that has a socket 775 be able to use any socket 775 processor from single cores, dual cores, and quad cores? May it be a brand name motherboard like dell, hp, gateway, or an enthusiast motherboard from asus, dfi, msi, and so on.

It depends on the cpu AND the board. VRM requirements(board cpu power delivery) for the new cpus has changed, bios may not support newer cpus, etc....it's impossible to answer your question without more specifics.

i would not class MSI as good! My order is Gigabyte / DFI / Asus / Evga / BFG etc...
Most LGA775 does support P4 and onwards mate.

Well which order isnt that important, some just have bad eggs, but if I were you I would first check a motherboards compatibility list on the site if you are doubtful, or just google the processor and motherboard together to see if anyone else has put em together :)
