Hi gang,

I have a GA-P35C-DS3R mobo. I have read some articles that this board has trouble sometimes with sata burners. I have the burner installed on port 5. I have no Jmicron drivers installed only Intel for the Raid0.

This is a brand new burner I installed. The Bios list a P5-DVD- exactly like this.
The strange thing is after this was installed I noticed it said ACHI bios installed. It always said before ACHI bios not installed. I can boot windows Vista from disk but all my burns end up empty. I checked the filters through Image Burn and there are no upper or lower and the recording tab is missing in the drive properties.

If anyone can help I sure would be obliged.

Get a PATA burner.

I used to have two Pioneer SATA burners and within 30 days both failed, so I sent them back to egg and got my money back and put the PATA drives back, two years later and lots DVDs burn, no issues.

I have the 110 and 115 OEM models, the 116 OEM looks good but as far as SATA go? They're junk IMO, after having two drives fail in such short time and one of them didn't burn within two weeks and the 2nd one didn't after the 4th week, so back they went. I only use PIONEER optical drives.

It sounds like you have not had good luck with Sata either.

I had a PATA burner before this one brand new and it did the same thing.
