filter fitted and the hole thing fitted to the comp

ive exstended the suction line
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k262/evocarlos/water%20cooled/evochill%20rev2/Image075.jpg

pressure tested to 15bar then vac'd it down and tri evac'd it and in with some propain

some white stuff

and the temps with pressures with 2 hfc's in there

the hole thing is unlagged atm but im working on it :)
then i'll go on to some load testing

Home made suction line HX :D

Good idea for SLHX. Easier than wrapping capillary line.

right so have been playing the last few hours and come up with this

charge is
r290 to get out of vac
r404 for normal charge
and r744/r1150 that was mixd leftovers from evocade rev1

the devil's temp's (system @ idle)
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k262/evocarlos/water%20cooled/evochill%20rev2/Image083.jpg

even the heatloader was cold
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k262/evocarlos/water%20cooled/evochill%20rev2/Image085.jpg

thru out the testing stage there was no flood back due to a large 300mm suctionline accumulator
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k262/evocarlos/water%20cooled/evochill%20rev2/Image086.jpg

after 40mins of running @230w the system stood firm @ -36c the high side pressure was a bit hi but im hoping that will drop with saturation of the gasses

cheers carl...

Its hard to read the gauges. What pressures do you have right now?

Where that lower pipe goes from that acc?

Interesting refrigerant coctail you have there  Good work mate.

@230w load its 240psig hi side and 9psig low side :) i did say it was high lol i need to get that hiside pressure down, the cap tube is to long need to chop it down 6"
but idle is 2-3"hg and 150psig hi side

thanks solid

but not sure what you mean form condencer side or acc rear outlet
this image shows it a bit clearer :)

Looks great Evo. :)

How did you come up with that mix?

well it was just going to be r404 but i thought that with active subcooling i could condence a small amount of r1150 in the discharge line after the condencer really it needs a lower pressure gas like r290 to get the temp down with out to much pressure
then make the pressure up with co2/r1150 to get it colder:)

i think lol
but it works better than it would as a standard vapo:) and that im glad about

Ah now i got it :]

Subcooler can be done that way too :D
Need to try that out in my build :P

Your not condensing r1150, maybe the CO2 a little. But not r1150.

well maybe ,maybe not but its no h-bomb i know that lol

if theres any co2 in there its a very small amount if any

oh and a quote from myslef "but i thought that with active subcooling "
and "but it works better than it would as a standard vapo and that im glad about "

just so you know what i said and not just jumping to a reply

it was never my intetion to put in the r1150 but i thought wth it cant hurt to try :)
experimentation is all im after

Yep I know, just telling ya, might be able to get that high side down. Even Co2 most likely wont condense, considering your filter isn't iced up. Just wasteful, however you are getting more at load from the SLHX I'm guessing.

I gotta agree with NOL.... all the co2 and ethylene is doing is raising your pressures and probably hurting performance. I'm betting you can get same temps with pure 404 or 507 without the high pressures.

I think condensing a little co2 in a suction line heat exchanger may be a viable idea, but you need a larger compressor and a much better hx to attempt that.
