Well, it's time for my quarterly new computer and I've pieced most of it together along with the corresponding cooling accessories.
I'm looking for a new sound card for this rig. I've got the whole gamut of X-Fi's and the first two runs of Xonars including the D2X.
I want a step up from the Prelude. I spend the majority of my recreational time on the computer gaming competitively. It is imperative that I do not suffer any loss of environmental effects nor FPS while gaming. I spend a smaller amount of time watching TV, watching movies, and listening to music.
My equipment consists of a HK receiver with Klipsch speakers that I use when I watch movies and listen to music. While gaming I use either my HD 580, 600 or my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speaker system.
If you guys could list out the pros and cons of each of the two cards and your recommendation, I'd sincerely appreciate it.
