Well is it possible to mix R290 and R744 together when looking forward for colder temps.
R290 aka Propane, Boiling point: -42C
R744 aka CO2, Boiling point: -78.5
Been thinking of 80-90% R290 + 10-20% R744 mix.
Therorical temp should be around: -48C with 80+20 mix, but yea those are just my calculations :ROTF:

CO2 and propane won't form a blend. This kind of a mixture can be only successfully used in an Autocascade or a SS with a subcooler.

Ok, that's one of the answers i was looking for. Thx

In an normal single-stage, you will not condense CO2. In order to condense CO2 with a single-compressor cooler, you will have to build autocascade. Subcooler is a viable option, but i think your discharge pressures will be sky-high.

You need to get the captube theoretically down to about -20C to get the Co2 to condense. Might be possible through the use of running the captube through the suction for better transfer, but you risk at load not getting that (while it might happen at idle). Basically won't happen.
