View Full Version : Creative X-FI Platinum Fatality - Media Cable

I have the "Creative X-FI Platinum Fatality" and I was wondering where you can replace the media cable (The one that connects the "Front Bay" to the "PCI Card") with a normal IDE cable ?

i think ur going to have to go threw creative. i have the X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion, and the cable doesnt look like a IDE cable. its shorter (less pins)

the original pci x-fi use a standard IDE cable they just remove pins to fool you. my cable died and I just use an old ide cable to connect the bay to the card.

Thankyou I will try that in the morning, and report back then more dan likly order a UV one later tommorow lol, I'm fed up of having that grey cable in there.

Sorry Mate haven't had time to try it yet its on my next to do list though :), just had my dual loop to fit into my comp taken up most my time lol. And School Work :shakes:

But will try ill leave a note on my monitor to remind me to try it tomorrow morning,

I am in the process of a MM build and the thought of that ugly grey flat cable was really bugging me. Google brought me back here (go figure). So, what you are saying is that any IDE cable will work? I have some rounded cables laying around somewhere, I think. And here I have been putting up with that ugly thing staring up at me from my Tech Station all this time.
