So I'm not sure when this started happening, but fairly recent I guess. Basically some shortcuts like the ones to Microsoft office and steam and itunes don't work at all. They have a blank image and they don't go anywhere and I can't fix them without deleting and making a new one. Now I have been researching this problem a lot and all the things that I found said to try 2 things.
1. download a .lnk registry fix and merge with the registry. Did this restarted and was still broken.
2. Download shexview and disable non Microsoft context menu controllers. I did each one, one at a time and restarted, but none of them solved my problems. This is a fairly new build, about 3 weeks old, so there werent many non microsoft ones to disable.
Now I am stuck and lost. The only other thing that appears not to work is that the .pdf files dont have a thumbnail, but they work fine. This was also true with word document files. I tried uninstalling Microsoft office, but it didn't even uninstall all the way, because it couldn't find all of the files. I have checked both partition for drive errors, but I didn't find any. What do I do? :confused:
