Anyone any idea? Not sure how many of you guys use em; mine is no longer responding normally to weights, needs to be recalibrated. Noticed it was picking up 1kg as 1.18 kg. Meanwhile my low weight scale (sub 2kg) picks it up perfect. And it is supposed to be a perfect 1kg metric weight.

Are you looking for a new one, or asking for help recalibrate it? :)

hey nol, i was looking at one for x-mas and didn't get one but have you considered a programable one? so you just enter "5grams" or so and it automatically allows 5 grams through?

check ebay, it was under $200

Although some of you may not deem it as essential, I find that a good refrigerant charging scale is invaluable to what I do.

Here's the one I got: Pro-Charge Electronic Refrigerant Charging Scale - Ebay - usatoolwarehouse (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pro-Charge-Electronic-Refrigerant-Charging-Scale-FJC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116Q QitemZ290285213536QQptZMotorsQ5fAutomotiveQ5fTools )

For just under $110.00 it is an excellent deal, and very well made. Shipping was also reasonable (not like some of the other people on Ebay). It was shipped promptly, and was very well packaged for delivery. Also comes with a very tough case.

For SS you could probably skip it, but when dealing with mixtures, it is imperative to having repeatability.

That's the scale I'm looking at, from Mytek's recommendation.

I'm looking at the same! It's really needed for my next project if i am about to blend refrigerants! The price is really nice, about 1/5 the price we pay here, i am just inquiring on the shipping fees to Europe.

I might have to pick up one a charging scale also if I decide to do more autocascade tinkering. Reproducing charges would be a very nice thing to be able to do

I compared the Pro Charge scale against our shop Tif 9010A scale, and both tracked together quite well. I am still very pleased with my purchase, and would highly recommend the Pro Charge as a good refrigerant charging scale.

^^^^^^^ The main reason I purchased a tif scale is a Battery operated programmable charging module interfaces with it. (programable selenoid valve). This allows you to set a specfic charge in large systems and walk away,or recover a given amount, say one full recovery tank(by weight) then stop. It also doesn't require you to look for a 120v power outlet that most programmable scale require.

Your scale may have the same ability ,they just interface thought a phone cable like cord.

IIRC #9020 is the module's part number.

Walt -- good point about the battery operation and the programmable charging module. The Pro-Charge is battery operated, but it lacks any kind of interface for expanding its abilities. Although for most of the guys around here, I don't think that will really be an issue. BTW how much does the charging module cost?

A guy had 3 listed on ebay, I got them all for $99.00 each, all new in box. That was not long after they came out with the 9010a scale. So I,m not really sure, but iirc they where 249.00 retail.

I agree for these small systems they are not required.

I bet both our scales have the same electronics from CES. They sell stuff branded under many names.
