The eVGA in BIOS vDroop control overvolts on load. Heres my results:
Vdroop control on:
Idle Vcore: 1.319 V
Load Vcore: 1.345 V
0.026 V Overvolt
Vdroop control off:
Idle Vcore: 1.308 V
Load Vcore: 1.280 V
0.028 V Droop
This was checked by hand with a voltmeter.
Does anyone have a vdroop mod for this board?
Thanks

Checked where exatcly on the board "by hand"?
If it was on the fets or a choke, it could be a bit off, i.e. on the CPU itself these 26mV of overvolting could be long gone. The ideal point for measuring vcore would be for example on a ceramic smd cap, as near to the socket as possible. Or maybe even on the backside of the board, directly behind the socket.
But maybe it's just a BIOS issue afterall. Who knows? :)

Aside from the vdroop, how do you like the board so far Derek?

So far the board has been wonderful to work with. I tested an Asus P6T Deluxe before the eVGA, and what a horrible board it is... not to mention its horrible layout.
With 12GB of Corsair Dominator, I'm running 8-8-8-24 @ 842 mhz, 1.6v and 4 GHz on my 920.

I'd recommend the board to anyone. The only bug I've ran into so far with the latest bios is sleep mod being broken above 175-180 BCLK. eVGA has said they are working on it, and they have a BIOS update about once a week, so I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
@celemine1Gig: I always vDroop mod all of my boards. I'd trust a tweaked pot over the BIOS any day.

ok good to hear, I bought the evga last week, but still haven't had time to install everything, also due to my d-tek waterblock which has no i7 bracket yet... thanks

Well that didn't answer my question.
But what do I care...
If you really think that you "need" the mod, then give me the name of the vcore controller and/or take photos of the area around the socket.
Then we'll discuss this further.

nice to see that there is a mod to solve my V-Droop problem to
because on my Board the BIOS Option takes no effect...

have testet the mod but thakes no change! BIOS Setup in "with vdroop" VCPU voltage 1,658 V set via eleet
droops down to 1,59 V on load "without vdroop" and crashes with "with vdroop" option!
I think the hole "with vdroop" "without vdroop" thing is not that clear.. why not:
"yes" and "no"?
EVGA Vdroop Control: "without vdroop"
that COULD mean no vdroop.. but it doesnt..

it means it, but it don't work on extreme cooling peter says it depends on the load what the CPu puts out...
I think thats not so nice

this mod will work better

wipe it clean with alcohol, spread some flux on the points and go.
if it doesnt stick probably iron not hot enough, but of course dot go too hot, 0402 small resistors//

I can confirm this mod, works realy fine! thanks man but I hope Classified hasn't this problems
finished the mod myself now.. seems to work.
I need more LN2, testing cpu tests later :D

derektm you had P6T V2 or the SAS version?
and can you explain a little bit more why you didn't like the Asus version?
i've heard bad things too about evga X58 too but can't be precise because i never
really had one. derektm as you experienced both mobo's perhaps you could bring some light to us.
