I need some help again guys, I am at the office and there is one laptop has VISTA and it is plug in Lan line and it said it is currently connecting to unidentified network. But it is Lan line how can it has no network. What can I do? Please help.

Did you install the latest driver first? Try to reset the modem/router first, then reboot your laptop.

yes the driver is updated and we reset the modem and router already also reboot the laptop still no connection. I mean it said there connection but is unidentified network.

Try and use another program for it than vista itself. I also had problems with it, but now use "homenet manager", and it works like a charm (the prog will set the correct settings in vista)

What kind of laptop is it? I know that there were certain problems with a network adapter driver for newer HP laptops. After installing the driver, either the wireless or wired capabilities of the lappy wouldn't work.... Just my two cents :shrugs:

Because it is a laptop this may be an issue but there is a similar problem with nvidia based MBs and the network. The fix is to unplug all power and the lan line and let it sit for a bit. I assume in this case it would involve removing the battery(s). Apparently the NIC goes into hibernation and can't get out. I seem to remember having to turn off my nic also
