I've never had an issue like this with any computer so I'm not sure what it is. I probably changed a setting without knowing it, accidently while trying to figure out how to use Vista. All the volume settings I can find, including the laptop's volume setting, and the external speaker's are all cranked all the way up, but it should be a LOT louder than it is... like it was earlier today. Crap... what did I do? *fiddles with buttons* Anyone know of any advanced settings or driver settings I can change?
Oh yeah, this is an Acer Aspire 6930 Lappy. If you guys think it needs a driver update, then I'll contact them about it.

none... I'm using the laptop's speakers and some Altec Lansing speakers... good ones. Old... but still very good. Doesn't matter if I plug those speakers in or not, it still happens. ALTHOUGH, I did just notice its only with certain things... like when I play music CD's on WMP. I'll go to my personal site here: http://vampirefreaks.com/JudaeusApella and my playlist will play my music PLENTY loud, but then I pop a CD into my lappy and I have to crank the speakers up really loud. The laptops speakers aren't exactly the best in the world, so even turned up really high, you can barely hear a CD playing. Its very strange...

Vista taskbar icon. Right click, open volume mixer. Mess with the mixer settings to change sound levels for each app/window.
Same icon, right click, go to playback devices, then go to speakers, then the levels tab. Mess with the sound levels.
