Hello all,

I orgionally started down this road with a purchase of a new E8500 that I didn't have a lot of luck O/C on my 680i board. So I started looking for purchasing a new MoBo and then it turned in a completely new system!

Let me know what you think of my choices.

My systems is going to consist of:
1. GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 (not going i7 for the time being)*
2. E8500 (hopefully clocked to 4.0+ GHz)*
3. G.Skill 8800 (2X2GB) 1100MHz RAM*
4. Corsair 750W PSU*
5. 2X500GB WD hard Drives in RAID 0*
6. 500GB and 160GB external USB HD for file backup*
7. GTX285 (when they are released)
8. G92 8800GTS running PhysX*
9. Vista 64bit*
10. MM U2-UFO case*
11. G15 Gaming Keyboard*
12. G9 Gaming Mouse*
13. G51 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers*
14. DVD RW*
15. 3.5" Floppy Drive (nostalgia)*
16. Razor Barracuda 5.1 Gaming Headset*

*items already purchased or owned.

What do you guys think. I just purchased the MoBo and the second drive yesterday.

Have a Happy New YEAR!!

My inclination would be to pick up a 4870x2 if only because you get more for your money. There is a sapphire for 449 free shipping at ewiz.com and my bet would be that on 285 launch day the x2's drop down to 410-430.

There's no denying that a 4870x2 gives the 280/285 a good ass whooping most of the time. http://en.expreview.com/2008/12/30/geforce-gtx285-gets-reviewed.html
