Stanford servers are down!

First I could not send a finished WU to the 117 server.

Now the stats server is down as well.

Not a good day for folding.

The stats server is up, but the 117 server fails to accept my 3.5 point P133, while the 113 server has accepted three finished 603 units without giving me a single point.

Stanford had better put their servers in order.

I have noticed that the 117 server is a constant problem. On the stanford help section there are a lot of posts about it being down frequently and I have had this problem several times also. I did finally manage to connect after repeated attempts without losing my work.

In the past, whenever I had problems with servers accepting wu's, I'd just leave that app running in the background and download another version. Install the new app in its own directory and rename all the files (like adding a #2 after the file names) and run it as a second app. It should find another server to fetch work from. That way you won't lose whats done and won't lose any production time either. Once the first edition finally submits its work, it will download another wu and as long as you go into config on both and set the second app with a little higher priority it should hog the cpu and the first app will just sit idle waiting for the cpu to become idle again. :)

Over the past two days I've lost a total of about 20 points because of server problems. Plus I still have 6.6 points in the queue waiting for the 112 server. Stanford had better straighten out these server issues.
