I saw an awsome mod at hardforums, where a german guy replaced the whole back of a V350 with a custom metal plate. The Point of this was to move the PSU to the left side of the case so that a TRUE or other big cooler could fit.
I can not get in direct contact with him becourse i cant register (hotmail, live, gmail ect. are not allowed). Is he in here?
I would love to ask him some questions, i want to make a similar plate just smaller, i dont want to cut the motherboard-tray. And he has expirence with the store that cut's the plates and other custom work.
Something like this where the hole for PSU is on the other side.

so, if i understand correctly you want to cut out the part you painted red and replace this part with your custom backplate. how will you attach your backplate to the case?
the reason i replaced the hole backplate was to get rid of the bridge in the middle. the way you want to cut it, you will have that bridge again and canīt remove the tray without removing the cpu cooler first.
i dont want to cut the motherboard-tray
as you can see here i used nearly the most of the original mb tray. i just removed that small plate by removing the rivets.

after that i attached my backplate

but if you just want to change the side of the psu a smaller backplate will do the job, too. anyways, there will be some fine tuning to do... ;)

Oh i see, hehe i totaly forgot that the cooler has to be mounted outside the case on the tray.
I realy like what you have done, it makes the V350 the perfect mATX case.
I realy love my TRUE Black and have made all the mod's on it, and thats why i want to move the PSU.
Did you use the original holes in the tray to mount the plate on it, or did you make some extra?
Do you still have the sketch file the plate?
BTW: I think i saw a detailed worklog somewhere maby at hardforums, but i cant seem to find it.
EDIT: Will my SG-850 even fit a V350?

Antec Signature 850 PSU :)
I dont have the case yet so im having a hard time finding out what needs improvment in the sketch.
If you had to remake it, what would you do different?
I think this is a great plate that could benefit a lot of V350 owners.

Antec Signature 850 PSU
how long is it?

the backplate or the hole build? if i had a new v350 i would start with a NH-C12P CPU cooler, replace the 80mm fan for a 92mm and if the system is getting to hot i would think about further steps. ;)

3.4" (H) x 5.9" (W) x 7.1" (D)
7,1" = 18,034cm

18cm? that is big. you will have only 2 cm left between psu and dvd cage. i donīt think that this will work...
