I want to build a new computer for gaming and have a budget of 600 dollars (sorry got the price wrong in title.) The only thing I am keeping from my old build is the CD-Drive (HDD as well if it gets to expensive). It does not matter where the parts are from weather it be Newgg or Ibuypower or any other company. Any links would be helpful. Also I have XP 32-bit but would always go for 63-bit or Vista.

64 bit is a killer over clocks all cpu's you'll lose some higher clocks(300-400mhz on AMD) and get added heat, but for most part I'm running 64 bit on a phenom here it's nice just make sure you able to get the drivers you need. check at the top of this forum there are suggest for builds with prices.

Your OS has nothing to do with your CPUs ability to overclock, nor will it magically make it run hotter

It only has an effect on CPUs that are not completely stable... some Phenoms got 100-200mhz by using a 32-bit OS, but that's it. I've not heard about any differences on Intels, though. Anyways--I'd say go 64-bit for more RAM.
