Im picking up a new Thermaltake Spedo advanced package this weekend, and i wanted to hear what everyone had to say about it. Im just going to be using it for air cooling and i love the sectioned parts and the amount of cable management that goes in to it.

So, What do you think about it?

Its a case, everyone is going to have their own views and opinions on it - personally I think it looks decent, but thats it. I don't like the giant fan in the side or how the inside is sectioned off.

Bad airflow (intake), poor construction, bad design in some areas. Not really worth looking into.

Hmm, ill probly end up taking off the side fan, but what im looking for is exactly whats in it. so im cool with it, but i just wanted to hear what some ppl had to say.. its a hell of alot of an improvement over my tiny NZXT mid tower. does anyone have a suggestion around the same price? that would do better in ur opinion?, hopefully from canadacomputers, cause im in canada and shipping sucks from the majority of the us sites.

TT is very good at psu's but at cases fail. I really don't like the case, my recomendations would be:

HAF 932
CM new ATCS 840 (if you like more luxury)
or antec 1200

Although I don't think this case is very good, I do think thermaltake is getting better. They have some ok ideas in this case, and if they would get off their a$$es and actually try to go for the real enthusiast market they could. Right now the only extreme crown they hold is the biggest ricer computer components.

anyone who ever used an armor version 1 knows how absolutely crappy it is to build in a thermaltake case :rofl:

i think its crap. my personal opinion. seems to be designed for those that have no class (dunno if its the right word) :ROTF:

Wow theres alot more bashing then what i expected.... Heres a summary: I like the sectioned parts, i will be removing the side 230mm so that i have a better panel, (because i like to see into my case), im heavy into cable management, i hate seeing any cables, especially unsleeved. Overall i felt like the case was pretty nice. i dont have a dremel so i cant do any modifications to the case, im looking for the case that offers what im looking for immediately. Is there anything that is about the same price range (or less) that has the same features? unfortunantly im not a fan of the 1200, or that HAF, or the 840. Maybe even a case with the side panel on the oposite side?.

a big thing is that i want the inside of the case black, and i would prefer to not do it after recieving the case.

THANKS for all the replys anyway :D

Does anyone know if there is a Cosmos S but reversed? so the panel is on the oposite side??

when do you ever see a really nice rig having a thermaltake PSU? it's more for mainstream builders because price is not too high

My opinion is to get the Coolermaster Cosmos S hands down. The interior is way better than the one in the Thermaltake Spedo.

You Guys are kidding right? This case is megabadasssssss!

I just built one. Ugly? LOL This thing looks like a clean modern skyscraper. The thing was a snap together dream, very well built, well engineered, the chambers rock when you UNDERSTND them.
My Rig is in the Sig and my rig lives in the Thermaltake Spedo Advance Package chassis. Don't listen to here say listen to people who own them.
Call it what you want , it WORKS and works well. I think it looks amazing. Its a complete blowthrough design. The chambers are awesome, the bottom one houses my KingWin 1220 PSU, the next one above encases my Radeon 4870 X2 and has it's own 120mm fan dedicated to the card.

It was the easiest and most CLEAN case I have ever built. The cable management is a dream. Im all wired up and look how CLEAN! Its badasss imho period.

Check it out.

Clean build man! I cannot see from any of the pics, but is there ample room to put a 120.3 rad in the top of this case???

It is an interesting case, but not really something I would use. The window seems kind of pointless with the fan grill and fan, plus behind it is just the black parts that create the chambers. If I'm going to have a window I want to be able to actually see all the different parts of the computer through it.

What features are you looking for other than cable management and black interior? Does it have to be a full tower?

onebadmk8 I was falling in love with that build until I started seeing all those cheap stickers but to each his own I suppose haha. I'm glad I'm not one of the only ones who actually does like this case despite not liking anything else thermaltake makes.

i actually did eventually get this case, and i must say that i love it, cable management is awesome, the whole thing is black, and its really nice and clean. some people may not like it, but i will be attempting to put a 3x120 rad in the top soon..... overall great case, would recommend to anyone...

Dont know for sure about the rad, but there is a ton of room up there.

Some shots all wired up with the wire management system, totally awesome. I also added my i7 965 stock heat sink fan to the backplane, looks like it came that way.

LOVE THIS CASE!

The decals are reuseable. Just messing around. If you read it further I said I am doing a real fire wrap on the case.

I just cant get into it alot of space wated when it could be used for better features like rad mounting

Who saying it will not fit? It supports water cooling, it has two water cooling ports up top so I would have to say yes it will fit fine.

Heres more on the Spedo Advance.

i have mine looking just about identical. the cable management options in this case are amazing, and i completely agree that the side panel would look 100% better without the fan, which is why the first thing i did was remove the acrylic and order new stuff in. but yea, just like my case, the black cables in there look so nice and so clean. good job on your cable management too.

I own this case and must say its the best case Ive ever worked with point blank!! Thermal Zone cooling is awesome especially when My 2nd ati card is a 4870 Dark Night has an open cooling rad on it and pours back into the case this thing pushes it right out!! The cable management options are beyond anything you could ever want / need! Tons of room not just in height and depth but width... Extreme space for 3 1/2" & 5 1/4 " bays weather you wanna mount in the bottom center or top of case! Just watch that video it doesn't do it justice on it behemoth size and space availability but you should get a pretty good idea!! was comparing against cosmos and haf this blew both away!! Sppedo Advanced all day baby!!

And as far as construction IT ROCK SOLID!!! thing is heavy & well built.... For all you bashers try it before you bash it you wont be disappointed!

Yeah I saw that earlier today. It could be cleaner, but I am a clean FREAK when it comes to wiring and I mean obsessive. I own a Hotrod shop as well as the graphics company and I am this freaky with the cars too. Heres a shot of my Plymouth's cable management.

thermaltake speedo..
personal opinion cheapest 8 pci slots mobo out there
the only other few i know is lian li pc 80 armor and lian li tyr2000
which cost double

what so great about the 8 pci slots..
mobos like r2e p6t deluxe can triple sli with ease.

dont worry ONEBADMK8, i hear ya, im a cable management obsesor aswell. EVERYTHING has to be clean or i hate it, the only problem is that i never got any good at cable sleeving so now i have the ugly 24-pin and 8-pin sitting there, im going to order some extensions in when i go water. im gonna go for a black/red look in this case, i think it would look absolutly amazing.... cable sleeving red, liquid red.....

lol unfortunantly my water cooling will be done in a few weeks, but i was planning on red liquid, red cathodes, red fans (enermax magma) and red sleeved cables. i think it would look amazing in that case... now if only i had a good enough camera to take pics of my case right now....

Final assembled shots (for now) lol.

I added a stainless handle to the bottom of the front panel.
Makes it easier to "pop" the front cover off, easier then feeling around underneath and pulling on sharp edged plastic from the bottom.

I swapped the factory Thermalright fan for the Noctua 1200.

is that a 240 or a 200mm fan in the top? and ONEBADMK8 nice engine, custom aluminium rockers, is that a 372 under there, and is that an old school CARBY! :O +10 respect. My nextdoor neighbour has a Shelby Cobra and he dropped a LS9 Specter Werske edition in there the other month, and that thing looks sick and fkin flys anyway haha bakc on topic :P

I like the case, sort of, I don't like how they seperate sections of the case though, and that side windows is just....an ugly abstract shape. Too many obtuse angles and not enough acute :P Looks like is has plenty of space for dual waterloop (with a bit of dremeling), but can it handle an E-ATX board?
