X-Fi Titanium PCI-E or X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional Series


I would like to know the diference between these 2 cards , as far as i can conclude , the gamer one has a gold side-plate and X-RAM (wich as far as i know is barely suported by games) when compared to the titanium plus the fact that it's PCI instead of PCI-E , are thoes all the diferences?

i will be using it mostly for games 70% rest music and movies...

i dont want to buy a signature card tho it doesnt cost much more than the titanium ..

get an extreme music or a titanium pci-e. I have both, id say the titanium is better, well. ive had less driver headaches with the titanium. quality wise their cards are pretty much the same. You will be hard pressed for your use of the card to find the difference between cards of the same x-fi series.

If your gaming 70% of the time why not save the money and buy X-Fi Xtreme Gamer. they are all the same and as you said the x-ram is not even used.

I use a X-Fi Xtreme Music (PCI) and I'm more than satisfied with it, so if you're going with PCI, it's probably a better price/quality option than the crazy expensive X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional and it isn't that much more expensive than the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer. I can't really say anything about the PCI-E card, maybe the X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series is a better option, since it like the Fatal1ty Professional has X-RAM and is true PCI-E, no bridge-chip. (The Creative line-up kind of confuses me, I remember something about the X-Fi Titanium using a bridge-chip)

xtreme audio is the only audigy 2 disguised card all other X-fi's including xtreme gamer are very real :P

why dose it matter, the A2 can be better (not the xfi rejects) but get something that has pci-e and i like the external hubs and or optical in and out

so just get the titanium and be happy

The Xtreme Gamer is a real X-Fi. The Xtreme Audio isn't a full X-Fi. I'm told that it is the same chip but with parts of the DSP failed or in-op. It is sort of like an Athlon X3, Intel Celeron or etc.. when everything doesn't work. The DSP internal processors don't work so this is past off the system's CPU so EAX will still work.

From what I've seen, the PCI-E version works better because unlike the PCI versions, it isn't a affected by BUS Mastering, PCI Polling, USB traffic and other issues. Again, the PCI version is just like any other PCI Bus Mastering Cards like Hardware NIC's, SCSI, IDE, Modems and etc...
