Here is the deal. Microcenter had a sale on 1tb hard drive for $100. My dad bought one, and I put it in his computer today, installed Windows SP3, and left the other two hard drives in. The computer boots fine, but once it gets past the loading screen, it blue screens and reboots. I thought it might be a power problem, but it boots into safe mode fine (and will stay there until I reboot it). Any ideas? One of the hard drives I left in still has Windows on it, if that is a problem.

Yea, you are right. What's the problem?

If you installed the OS with the other two drives installed, that could be the issue. SOmetimes windows in all its glory gets confused with more than the target HDD installed. I bet if you unplugged the other two drives and loaded XP again you'll be golden.

Could be a driver issue too.

I installed Windows with the 1tb drive in, installed the drivers and programs, then plugged the other 2 hard drives in. I deleted the windows folder on the old hard drive cause I thought that was the problem. I also deleted the boot.ini file because I thought that might be messing with it.

So what happens if you unplug the two other drives now???

I'm posting from the computer right now. It works fine with the hard drives unplugged, but for some reason it acts up when they are plugged in. It really confuses me.

Did you check the boot order in BIOS to make sure the new drive is first in the hard disk boot priority???

Yup. It boots into safe mode fine. It will work fine in safe mode. I go to safe mode with networking, and that wont work.

get into windows recovery console with your cd.. type in bootcfg /list and remove all the ones from the old drive if they are showing up. im guess its a conflict of the master boot record.
