Now I gets to start thinking of what I'm gonna put in this box. I know it will have an i7 920 but the rest? Perhaps a Feser 360...

Here's a nice video review of the case.

Why not? I think they are often decent reviews. Aside from the music and the inevitable KickAss comment. I like being able to see a video of a product like this case.

SoulsCollective

Because they're crap, and the guy is an obnoxious idiot. Results are presented without data, conclusions are reached often on tenuous if not outright spurious ground, there's little to no comparison with any similar products, he has no understanding of the principles of empirical observation, standard deviation, or even common sense, and he treats the viewers as if they were a mentally retarded thirteen-year-old. Which is probably a good summary of the target audience.

By all means, watch the video to see the product. But please don't demean the community by referring to it as a review, particularly not a "nice" one.

I checked the other day and you could've gotten this case for $244 shipped from Amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RC-840-KKN1-GP-Aluminum-Chassis/dp/B001IZZ7N6/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1230060556&sr=8-1

It has gone up in price to today to $277 shipped but their price fluctuates every few days so just check back. (It still would've been cheaper than the price you paid.)

$216 is a nice price but $90 shipping kills it.

There is so much that I love about this case. So glad to see CM (and others) going back to CLEAN lines and stylish designs, as well as getting away from cheap feeling material in favor of something of a bit higher quality.

I just wish they would shrink this case to at least a standard sized mid-tower. I don't need a full-tower and being one clearly increases the price a lot due to more material used. Plus, in my experience, airflow always seems to suffer from so little being put in such a large case. To much space for hot air to just remain a bit stagnant. I read a review on this case that noted this problem, especially for video cards at the bottom.

Here in Alaska we get free sex whenever we ship something up. That was cheaper than any other shipping quote as well as the lowest price. I just got the tracking number.

I saw that comment as well. Not a deal breaker for me. I have the room for the case. And I wanted the ability to put a nice W/C setup in with ease. In addition I plan on putting two fans on the HDD rack and one on the bottom. Total of 7 fans not including the one for the External Air Duct.

Has anyone had experience with the Koolance CTR-CD10BK 5.25" Pump & Fan Speed Controller? I'm thinking of adding one.

No problem . . . the silver one is $239.99 shipped today but the black is $277 - they must price according to demand. I was thinking of picking up the silver one but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Grrrr. The Super Saver Shipping is no good for items like this for me I'm less than 6 miles from one of the largest FedEx hubs in the world but shipping is usually more to Alaskans.

I actually bought mine from ProVantage for that price (shipped). His deal was worse because of the shipping cost to Alaska.

The case was shipped from a warehouse in Fresno CA to Oakland CA where it was shipped to Louisville KY where it's sitting at this moment. 2100 miles in the wrong direction. And I get to pay extra for this.

Bet you still got "free shipping". Not we Alaskans. Not from NewEgg. And the actual cost difference is small, often no difference at all. My house is only a few miles from one of the largest heavy jet flight trainers in the country and it's owned by FedEx. :shakes:

But you can't. A video presentation has merits. I sure didn't base my buying decision on old whatshisname's video. But it was VERY helpful, especially when I combined it with a few hours online here and a dozen other sites.

My case is now in Anchorage! Got here at 9:36 PM, Christmas Eve. Friday is gonna be Christmas II.

Being elitist only makes you look like an ass to any intelligent human being. I don't think you really know what you're talking about. Please enlighten me as to how empirical observation (btw, empiricism implies observation, so empirical observation is redundant) and standard deviation apply to a case review. I'm sure you will have to refer to wikipedia so take your time little guy.

It's okay I guess, but I'm gonna invest in some real liquid cooling. It's really loud on even medium. They should've had a 120mm fan in there instead of a 92. Could've helped slot. I get about 35-39c load @ 4ghz so not too bad. Enjoy your case, I've gotta give my ATCS up for a different model.

I'm curious about how those who water cool will go about mounting the rad(s).

After I pulled it out of the box the first thing I did was remove the side for a look. Then I popped the top off and played with the rails wondering if I should cut the support that would partially block the 2cnd radiator in a 120.3. Then I wondered about a 120.2 on the HDD rack. This case looks to be AMAZING for W/C. Looks Super easy to mount a 120.3 up top. Never done it myself.

Yet.

Etherwolf
12-27-2008, 01:43 AM
You can see the support I mean, right between the 230's. I don't see why I couldn't just wack the center of it out leaving the holes for the rails that are included to mount 3 120's or a 120.3 radiator. A 120.3 will fit PERFECTLY there.

The rails fit on the bottom side of the 230mm fans and the part you're considering cutting out forms part of the structure of the top so not really recommended tbh

Etherwolf

I'm not thinking of using the 230's to cool the radiator. I'm thinking 3 120's. And I don't see why clipping the center out of that piece will make a structural difference. Both sides will be connected via the radiator.

Pull the 230's.

Clip the center piece out.

Mount the rails to the case.

The radiator to the rails.

The 120's to the radiator.

What am I missing?

My case arrived today - biggest damn case box I've ever seen!

I finally saw this case in person . . . and it's gi-normous! I expected it to be tall and deep but I was surprised by how wide it is also!

I don't think I'll end up getting it. I do like the large fans - it seems like this case would be cooler and quieter than most . . . but I just wasn't knocked off my feet by the overall design. I just picked up a TJ07 off of Craigslist last night and and iffy on that one too. Maybe a higher end Lian Li full tower will be my next case.

Howdy,
I was wondering a couple of things. Looking at LordEC911's part list I assume that the clearance above the motherboard is enough to accomodate the fans and a "fat" 120.3 (Thermochill, Feser, etc...), but if comeone could confirm that would be sweet. Also, can someone with a production version of this case (not a review case) tell me if the Cooler Master case badge on the front is a decal/painted on or is it recessed? I really like the clean lines for the case but putting the big shiny silver logo on an otherwise svelt case is a crime. Hasta.
