I have a Sunbeam Transformer case. But the two blue LED fans are taken out. Currently I have a red cold cathode light in there at the bottom, and my PSU has a blue light underneath it but that is only subtle. So there is a bit of a purple effect going on near the top, but again it's very subtle. It looks ok, but i'm thinking it might be nice to get either a whole purple color in there (i still have the green light aswell at the front, which came with the case), or go with a turqoise effect. But I can't find any purple or turqoise case lights (i live in the UK). So if i bought a blue light, and a green light and had them either 1 at top, 1 bottom, or both in the same place- would this make turqoise? and a red and blue if i want purple?

Making custom colors can be difficult. You have to mix/match the brightness of the two different colors to get the end result that you want and it can take a bit of trial and error experimenting. Depending on the number of lights that you have to buy to do the experiments, it can get costly.

One thing that you could try to do is to make your own LED lights with some of the more uncommon colors. It's more difficult, but it gives you better control of the end result and probably costs less.

This site (http://www.superbrightleds.com/leds.htm) has Aqua and Violet LED's as well as all of the other colors so you can try to blend your own. You can also look around on eBay and Google for LED suppliers that might have lower prices. There are a ton of them out there.

As mentioned "mixing" lights ie CCFLs and LEDs is not like mixing color paints. Its difficult to get a uniform lighting effect.

LEDs are a good way to achieve the effect--they do requiring some wiring, very basic electronics knowledge, some basic tools (wire, soldering iron, and heatshrink).

UV cold cathodes give a purple glow, altho it varies a little from a uniform purple glow.

The cheapest ghetto method maybe to get a white CCFL and wrap it with purple translucent cellophane.

Purple is really cool. Then you can paint inside of your case purple like mine...

Not something I would have done but whatever floats your boat sir.

Just get a cathode with the color you want, anything else is too complicated for the small price you pay for a cathode.

I have found something called a 'sunbeam chameleon', which is 4 LED lights which you can control with dials to make them change to any color. Trouble is I can't find it anywhere for sale, even if i search the world sites. But i have found another purple cathode aswell which may be good, it's a Sunbeam one: http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=CMS-CCK-30-P&af=50

btw, i looked at the ones you suggested on ebay, and thought they looked good but then noticed someone saying that they wern't very bright and looked too pale.

So I dunno about these Sunbeam ones, but My case is by sunbeam and it's made well, so maybe they'l be bright enough.

You can get RGB LED's. They're commonly used in large outside color video displays.

Wire them up with variable resistors and you can fine tune your colors to your hearts content.

Just search Google or eBay for "RGB LED".
