Just setup new rig tonight.

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R motherboard.

I installed Windows and I am using the computer fine, but I am getting no POST beep at all. No sound of any kind when I start or restart my computer. It is bothering me though, and SOMETHING must be wrong.

Only problem I have had is I cannot load into the Ubuntu Live CD. It is giving some region error and the messes up when trying to load the OS. I have no clue what could be causing that.

Other than that, Windows seems to be working fine.

Anybody else had a similar problem?

I dunno about you but I don't think any of my last 3 mobos beeped. I'm sure its working fine.

Well, the instruction manual mentioned post beeps. A single short beep is supposed to mean successful post. I had the same thought as you until I read that.

Thanks for the reply.

Nope, I just assumed it already had one (for alarms and such). My last mobo (evga 680i) had a built in one, and it beeped every time.

I've never had an Intel board with an onboard speaker. I'm sure they're out there, but by the same token I've never had an nVidia board without one. If it runs fine, and POSTs fine, I really wouldn't worry.

Thanks, glad to hear it...

In other news, I am currently trying to test for stability with a 425 (1700) MHz FSB. Should the P45 need anything beyond the stock voltage to hit this FSB? Or is this still well within its powers?

Same here with the beeps. My Intel board/s have never had speakers on them. It's fine.
