I have an opportunity to buy used some very nice equipment.
Asus Rampage Extreme - $180
Intel QX9770 - $350
2GB DDR3-2000 OCZ Memory - $200
Asus Maximus II Formula - $140
I was hoping to build an i7 system using the 920 and the Rampage Extreme II or the P6T board. But this used gear has me wondering!

In a nutshell, if you're a gamer and don't do extensive encoding or photo work, the 9770 will serve you just fine. I just upgraded from an Opty 165 rig so I went all-out. I don't want to have to do any upgrades for a minimum of two years, video cards excepted.
I'll have to check back in later. It's almost time to hit the Glenn for the hell-drive north. This commute from Anchorage is really getting on my nerves.

I like living in Anchorage. Alaska is only an hour away...
Be cool, I heard the Glenn was screwed up around Birchwood.
I think I'll wait and spend a tad more for a i7 920 setup.
Anyone else interested in this gear?
