I just got my chiller constructed and running. i used a 5000btu window ac unit and a danger den cpu and gpu block with my existing watercooling setup. Its not done by any means but enough for some preliminary testing. I dont have anything to test the liquid temps right now but my 2.53 p4b is running about -7c at 3.3 1.6 vcore. This is by no means the highest i can get just playing around a little. was also able to get about 495 core on my 9800np. I still have alot of work to do....Getting some ice on the evaporator so i need to add some more coolant and will eventually get it all installed in my case. For now its just layed out on the table. I will have some pics up in a week or so. i dont have a digital camera so i bought a disposable 35mm. once everything is all done ill get them developed and post them!

How loud is yours? I picked up an 8000BTU becuase I got a fairly good deal on it ($100) but not only does it makes to much noise, the compressor takes over 600Watts to run and trips the breaker every now and then.

Its a little loud but.... I used to have an mcx-4000 with a vantec tornado fan on it so im used to "loud" plus im usually wearing headphones. I think that noise is a small price to pay for performance. I'd hook a vacume cleaner to my pc and run it 24/7 if it would help overclock....lol

So its not really as loud as a tornado? I sleep right beside my computer that has a tornado in it just to cool the mosfets and chipset. The compressor I got is way louder then the tornado, its a Toshiba 3/4HP I think.

yeah, i was getting alot of ice around the evaporator. i put more antifreese in the res. so there is about a 50/50 mixture. still getting a little ice so im gonna add some more and see if it helps

When ice starts to form, the temperature can go no lower. All of the units capacity is then involved in making ice. It is important to have a strong enough mixture and also to keep the mixture circulating.
