Hey I am new to these forums since I just got the activation e-mail after 2 weeks since the mail server was down.

I am modding my Antec 900 and was looking to replace the 4 stock fans with these. It would be 2 fans in the front of the case, one on the side blowing in and one on the back blowing out.

Next I was looking fan controller that is recommended. I have seen a lot on the market and have found nothing that really sticks out and says "This is the best you can buy". I would like it to show temps and RPM but it does not have to be huge just light up. If anyone could tell me if this would be a good combo please let me know or leave your advice with links.

Sounds like your looking for a Scythe Kaze Master. Ive got one and looks great! highly recommended.

It shows RPM and temp and looks subtle but still stands out

IIf you choose the Scythe Kaze Master, then go with the Scythe Kaze Master ACE (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=73&products_id=24666)...

Personally I like the normal kaze master better

Another vote for the Scythe Kaze Master. I believe somebody was looking for those fans a while back, give us a report how they are when you get them please. :)

Only having 7W (0.6A)/channel sucks though, especially if you want to run multiple fans/channel or certain highspeed fans.

My personal opinion on fan controllers is that they should turn your fans up and down, and do it well. For the most part, the temp sensors are inacurrate and what temps are you wanting to read? Most of todays hardware has temp sensors built into them which are better than anything you can put beside it. Who really cares what RPM they are running. If it's too loud, turn it down. If your parts are heating up, crank them up. For the $$, the Sunbeam 4 Channel for $16 is hard to beat with it's 1.6A/channel. The 6 channel extreme version is very nice as well with 2.5A/channel for $35. The Lamptron is also very nice with 3.75A/channel but it's considerably more expensive at ~$60. Another good thing about all of these is that they should match the exterior of your 900 pretty well. For reference, those Aerocools are rated at 0.5A max, each.

Just ordered my second Zalman zm-mfc1 plus. If you're looking for a nicely built fan controller that does the job, I'd go with Zalman, 6 channels, nice built quality. Not flashy but, as I said, does the job well.

I have a Scythe Kaze Master, +1 for it, looks great and does what it does ;) Of course if you run super high powered fans it might be a problem...

can you turn the fan off with this controller?

thats not a bonus if it does. you never want to be able to completely kill a fan in your pc, unless you like the smell of hardware cooking :)

I find the kaze to be hideously ugly. Other suggestions?

yup, i miss Abit :(

even the fan controller on my old IC7 and AI7 boards were better then what im dealing with today :shakes:

on my Asus P5Q...

i can easily choose full time high fans or full time low fans, but switching mode doesnt even engage till 66*C and even then its a slow ramp up. useless for my needs

how hard can it be to encode a low/high switch at whatever temp the user inputs?

If we all had your $$, we would too. :D

My old Asus P5N32E 680i adjust my fans perfectly. I had 5 (i think) fans attatched to the MB and adjust them through Asus's software. You could choose duty cycle down to 60% or run temp based.

I'm not big on the Kaze and the Fan-atic leaves something to be desired. However, I've heard of the Fan Controller(FC-2) from Lamptron. Does anyone have a review for that one? Where can I buy it?

yes, RPM readouts! :ROTF:
a simple remote RPM cable to the moboard solves that problem.

...it is great for quick thoughtless 5v-12v switching tho :yepp:
