View Full Version : I'm really digging the white and black builds lately

I'm thinking of either powdercoating or spray painting the Aluminum portions of the inside of the v2000.
Not the Black, but just the metal aluminum. I'd have to pop out all the rivets and retap with tiny screws.
Has anyone tried something similar in color?

I think the black and white contrast will look better than the black and metal.

White stuff gets dirty easily, and when they are dirty... it just looks dirty :p:

I recommend spending the extra amount on a good powder coating. As long as the finish is nice it won't look dirty or will be hard to clean.

Here are a few things I've learned along the way:
- Don't take shortcuts
- Take the time to do it right and the way you want it
- The extra cost is takes pays for itself
- The more effort you put into it the happier you will be with the finished product

Eddie, it's obvious you have been around a while and I'm sure have learned some of the hardships of building your own machines. Take what you have learned and challenge yourself to really perfect it. If you do that I think you'll be happy.

I am fond of the Black/White builds ever since I saw Tremeloes and MCP's beautiful machines.

Blue, it's good advice and I agree that if painting isn't done properly, it would ruin the projected build.
The powdercoating jobs that I have seen online are absolutely stunning, especially when I googled some these rigs powdered-coated by Marcus (or whoever he uses )

I have very good painting skills, but this is really top notch on his part. I'd like to keep the shell black, but the mid-shelf and all metal objects inside painted or powdered coated white.
After looking at the white and then looking at the barel metal, it's almost blah!

Kind of a similar looking I'm going for.
Marcus, wish you lived closer to me :)

My v2000 is getting done in white powdercoating on the outside and matt black inside,im spraying my yates on my rad white and a few other parts to match.
My first MM case was white with dark plexi window`s and that looked really good.

You don't really need to powdercoat it to get it look nice. :)

If you have the proper equipment, including good paint and good varnish, theres no problem doing a good job with just regular "paint." :)

Spray-box-paint isn't an option in my opinion, though it may work with multiple layers. First a good priming job, then some layers with paint, and for the finishing touch varnish. (Two-three layers should give a nice touch. Depends on how shiny you want it.)
