Hey all. Just for something slightly Different, I thought I'd ask a question NOT relating to video cards.

I just bought a XFX XGear Wireless Controller today to save pulling out the Momo Wheel when I feel like a quick bash on the driving games.

The issue is, I have Vista x64 and the driver Disc doesn't work PERIOD!

I'm wondering if someone can guide ne to a place of happiness where I can download the XFX Driver that will work in Vista (NO, none on XFXforce.com)

I can get it to work fine on XP, but I don't game on XP anymore. (trying to phase it out completely)

I know the standard Game Controller in the Control Panel picks it up and makes it functional, but the main reason I bought it is I can use it as mouse emulation when I hook the PC up to the Plasma TV and it'll save mouse cords being around.

I would love some help on this one.

Cheers
Steve

We stopped making those controllers before Vista was developed. The software for it is only available for XP. In Vista the only functionality will be what is offered by the base Microsoft driver.

Yeah. I have tried a lot of Googling and fiddling around to get the XP Drivers going in Vista but still seem to come up trumps.

I'll be happy enough toying with the standard settings offered by Vista until I feel the urge to go back to XP.

I know that XBox 360 Windows drivers don't work either.

Cheers for your reply. I'll keep going how it is.

Dual booting may be a good option to think about so your gaming hardware can still be used.

I do dual boot at the moment Jason, but I'm trying to out XP forever and stay with Vista. I'm at a point where the only time I bother with XP is to run a Benchmark after an overclock as it gets better results on 3D Mark '06.

I'm sort of convinced that the Mouse Emulation that the XGear Controller can provide in XP is just a Gimme anyway so Vista it is.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not unhappy about the purchase at all, more hopeful that the product may have been popular enough for someone to have done a Vista fix for the drivers. (Maybe I should learn how to do this sort of stuff myself???)

There are a lot of products that are in the mainstream being used today that were designed for XP and earlier with NIL Vista support. I also have an old Digital Camera that won't even read as an external drive (strange issue) that I should look into.
