I always use the asus flash utility for windows Kunaak, just make sure that you load setup defaults b4 doing it and NO OC !
Use the version that came on your install CD, it will automaticly check for updated version of the utility and download it for you, it has the option to use a bios file that you have on hd, so you can download the beta and install it. when you are browsing for the file select "all files" instead of "bin" and you will see the beta.

Boot of a dos floppy with afudos + the new bios file. At the command prompt type:
afudos /ibiosfilename

Yep I did mine with AFUDOS just fine, using a drdos bootdisk downloaded from http://www.bootdisk.com/
ALT-F2 gave me a blank screen every time I tried.

I can't flash this bios...
why do they have to make this so hard :(
heres what I typed...
Afudos/K8V-ASUS-1003.012
it looks like it does something, then just goes back to A:\
this is really frustrating.

my A64 isn't connected to the net...
all I have is AOL dial for sometime till I get moved into my new apartment and can get cable again, so I can't try that very easy...
plus, how would you do it with a beta bios?

you don't have to be connected to the net ! do you already have the beta downloaded ? right ?
just open the Asus utility and select "update bios from a file" in the pull down menu. Then when you get the menu to select the file, change the bottom menu "files of type" to "beta files". then just go to the folder where the beta file is located on your machine and selet it !

Umm, try Afudos /iK8V-ASUS-1003.012
Maybe you just made a typo, but you need the /i in front of the file name to tell afudos that it's an input file.
