All I need to complete my i7 setup is my case and a silly tube of thermal compound. However, I'm not going to overlook the importance of good thermal compound. I'm traditionally an Arctic Silver user. Also, I've been hearing a lot of good things about the IC Diamond 7 Carat compound. What paste/compound are you using and why? What do I get!? GO!

i'm using OCZ Freeze. It's the best stuff i've ever used. I'm on my 4th tube now and i swear by it. It beats AS5 by 5C.

the diamond stuff can scratch up the cpu and the lettering on the top, i like tx-2 since its cheap and the same as mx-2 but its $3 a 3.5g tube
so long as u never use anything with wax like the stock intel paste u will be fine

it'll scratch if you try to move your block around. e.g grinding, polishing
but it wont scratch if you just lock it static on the mobo
