I finally understand "what gives" with all you H20 lovers. I should have tried this long ago! I'm running a Danger Den Maze-4 Powerkit, and considering it's a "entry-level" kit, it's cooling capability, is superb. My temps rarely get over 19C, and that's in a constant overclocked state. The highest they've reached was 25C on a hot day last week.

And by the by, I've been running OCZ's new PC4200 for over ten days now, and it's stable at 285FSB, and runs great bandwidth at 275FSB. Of course I have the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe now, which makes all the dfference in the world. I'm grateful people care about me and have helped me with all this stuff. And you know who you are, thank you so very much!!!

I'm getting the NB Z-block soon and an extra fan for push/pull on the Black Ice X. Can't wait to see what she will do then.

Can anyone tell me how large of difference push/pull makes compared to one 120mm Sunon? I finally hit 3.7GHz with this chip! I knew it was the NB. I can't wait to get my Prommie back, and let her rip!

first, let me say that those are great temps you are getting therem

second,, if Danger Den Maze-4 Powerkit is considered entry level, what would be the best water cooling setup money can buy ? i have exxos running right now, and i know others have better cooling potential.

what kind of water cooling can $300 buy me

thankx

According to your BIOS readings.....which I have found to be terribly wrong. My probe on the back of my CPU reads 8-12c higher than my board. Don't trust those sensors.

yeah 19°c seems very low.

My setup is in my sig and while the IC7 temps are reported very high, my load is 47°c which I feel is more around 37-40°c. This is with a 2.4c running at 285fsb, 1.65vcc and ambient of 25°c.

BTW I just went to a push pull on my Dtek pro Core heater core with 2 85cfm deltas and shrouds, and temps did not change a bit. I have a cascade coming in within the week, and while I am redoing my tubing I am going to go back to one fan pulling. The increased noise is just not worth it for no performance gain. If it was atleast 2°c or more I would keep it, but not with a 0°c gain.

Also those pc4200 OCZ are sounding awesome. I have been beta testing the pc3500 gold, and have seen some others post of great results with the pc4200. I wish I had a chance to get my hands on some!!!

maybe his room temp is sub 15°C ? :)

Test Results - Liquid3DMost importantly, I used the Vantec Tornado 92mm/119CFM fan. Room temps varied from 16°C to 22°C, I ran the cooler in each position for 48-hours.

Well, last night it was 5c here. In canada.

So you don't have to live in the south pole for that kind of weather :P
(warning, keeping your windows open is a good way to get sick. I know because I'm having a real blast coughing it up ;) )

Little River Cascade SS, 1/2" PVC Tubing, your average heatercore, and your choice of either a Swiftech MCP600, Eheim 1250, Danner Mag 3, or Hydor L30 for a pump, :toast:

What bandwidth do you get??

Sadly enough, it's smaller then many caves, but I do have 12-foot ceilings (thank the Lord (or the Architect)). My cave has a pretty good veiw though. YES I do keep my room REALLY cold, it's true, it's probably 63F in here right now.

I definately agree these temps are not totally reliable. My IC7-G also registered insanely high temps, while I feel my IS7-E seemed too low? So I just guestimate. I figure it's never really perfect Unless measuring at the source with some independent instrument.

From what I know about the 2.4C it has three diodes and Intel placed the diode which shuts down the processor at the hottest point, the throttling thermistor at the second highest point (temp wise) and the what your temp-software reads is actually off to the side, at what is the coldest spot on the CPU. This (from a discussion with a highly knowledgeable thermal specialist) was not so much to deceive the public, but if people were see true operating temps on the P4, this would cause unecessary concern.

For example the Prescott theoretically emitting 103 Watts, when it's more likely 123W. But these figures are relative to what only Intel engineeers know to be actual dangerously high temps. I should include the motherboard thermistor reading from now on, to give a better idea of the room's ambeint temps. Below was actually the highest I'd ever seen my temps, and it was due to it being a very warm day two weeks ago. Here's some bandwidth lovin (pretty good for CAS-3-4-4-8);

What voltage was your 3.7 GHz running at?

Liquid3D

1.5370Vcore at 3.7GHz The picture below was when I first got this chip. Now there's absolutely no IHS there at all.

Actually, it most likely would have done 3.7GHz at default, but I tend to put in the extra Vcore to ensure stability. My Abit IS7-E was unstable. But that's because the AC was on the same socket as my PC, this summer, and when it would kick in every now and again, the PC might reboot if the voltage was at default. I'm going to try again today at deafult. The P4C800E D is much more stable power supply, on the board. I'll take two stage with larger capicitance then three or four stage anyday. I don't care what mobo marketing says, their saving money by buying smaller capacitors. A three or four stage power supply may be fine under default conditions. For overclocking, I'd rather have the large amount of power from one capacitor quicly, then wait for that power to travel from one capacitor to the next through traces.
