Has anyone ever tried to spray painting or air brushing these fans? I have 3 that I plan to use on my Feser 360 rad and I don't mind the color but I would like it alot better if they were black.

Sure it can be done, but why spoil the unique color scheme of the Noctua fan?
Everybody and their brother can have a plain-jane black fan, but how many people have a fan that is flesh-colored with a chocolate-brown blade:D

yes they are ugly, but give it time and you will get used to looking at them. my rig is full of Noctuas and now black fans look stupid to me ;)

you will damage the bearing as your paint coat may not be even on each blade. It could even result with the blades spinning even slower.

@Retro NICE !

Very good point about the problems painting would cause. Just not worth damaging the fan, and for the hassle involved, I wouldn't want to bother. I'm not really big on the Noctua fans colors either, so I like to joke about it. I first used them as heatsink fans when I bought the Noctua heatsink, but thought I would try a couple I had lying around for case fans in the Antec Mini P180 case I got a few weeks ago for my first mATX project. As Vapor's fan tests confirm, there are better cost/airflow fans out there like Yate Loons, but I like the quality and low noise of the Noctuas. When they are on sale:D
