I've finally got my prommie mach 1 fixed and charged up with some R413a. I've alsp put a YS-Tech 120x38mm 125cfm fan in the front cooling the radiator. I'll fit another YS-Tech fan in the rear at the weekend, just wondering, can it be connected to the power connectors from my PC or will I HAVE TO connect it to the prommie like the other fan???

My 1700+ has successfully managed to clock upto 2.8GHz with 1.9v. Evap head temps level out at about -28C, this is with the prommie fans at full speed and the heater off. Problems though, I will have Prime 95 in the background for 2, 3 or even 4 hours while I do whatever else I do, and then it'll just hard lock unexpectedly. Anyone got any ideas why this may be? Over current protection???

Next problem, while the PC is held in a reset state and the prommie is cooling down it's quite quiet, but as soon as the PC posts "Beach like" noises start. They appear to come from the evap head or from within the evap hose near the head. This noise REALLY sounds like the waves crashing on a beach. Anyone got any ideas why this may be? It is loud too, far louder than my Ys-Tech fans that are quoted as 40dB at 12v!!!

Thanks for your time, I hope someone can give me some ideas.

"can it be connected to the power connectors from my PC "

as soon as your PC boots up the fan will work as any other casefan so I don't see any problem.
2.8Ghz is pretty impresse and almost gives you a 100% OC ;)
what is the CPU temp registered by the MBM5 or similar app?

the beach sound might be due to some ineffective insulation? Don't know exactly, can also be the compressor making that noise.

Thanks.

Anyone else?

I had a similar problem too, the chip would prime for hours and then just hard lock up, I am think may be it's related to PSU rail stability?

Got a new 550W TC and jacked up all the rails pretty high, hopefully it wont happen

Well I have an Antec TrueControl 550w too.

My rails are very stable, hardly change going from idle to full load.

3.3v is 3.28v-3.33v
5v is 5.00-5.03v
12v is 12.04-12.09v

Are those rails maissured @ the molex or with MBM?

Glad to hear that you got it fixed and that your telps are good.

Those noises dont sound right to me, certainly not that loud. But ive no idea what might cause it.

Is that the same truecontrol that ebuyer sell?
I might think about getting one if it is.

Those are MBProbe/BIOS voltages, hardware multimeter values are slightly higher, not sure about the 3.3v rail though, dunno where to measure it.

Dunno about TC on Ebuyer, but CPUCITY have it :D

Walrusbonzo,

what temp of cpu reads nf7s?

If I load up toast, after about 10 minutes temps are in the region of 15/16C :/

And my Evap head temps are in the region of 25/26C, this is with 2 YS-Tech 120x38mm fans that push 125cfm at 12v.

:/

I don't think it's cooling as well as it should, and I think it's sprung another very slight leak, because when I turn it off I'm starting to get this oily smell back again. FFS, I wish this was a bit more plain sailing :(
