Hi!
Just wanted to check with those who are currently using this Asus K8V Deluxe on what they think about the overclocking potential?
I have heard that the AGP and PCI clock are adjusted in the bios automatically?
Is this true?
I am using the Albatron K8X800 Pro II and I can't overclock higher than 225mhz fsb. The hard disk gets corrupted if I got higher than 225mhz. It is not even stable beyond 222mhz fsb.
I am wondering how is the Asus K8V Deluxe? Can the AGP and PCI clock really be adjusted automatically in the bios?

Damn I have msi and Asus and both sucks so I just ordered a Albatron maby that was a misstake. I am reading the Albatrons manual and have you tested any settings from page 33? What mem and hd are you using? memory settings? are you using the latest betabios from their site?

I am using the Corsair XMS 3500 rams running at CL2,2,2,5.
My hard disk is Western Digital Raptor Serial ATA.
Where do you find the beta bios?

I am running 230fsb on a K8V Deluxe on air with no problems. Macci has had his over 300Mhz with an 8x multi and TurboPLL. I'd say its a pretty good board. The bios is a bit chewed, but hopefully they can fix that.

So basically with the Asus K8V auto adjusts the AGP and PCI clocks.
My Radeon 9800 Pro can't handle running at 225mhz fsb.
I am thinking of either getting the Asus K8V Deluxe today or wait for the Abit K8V Max3 to release in a week or two.

Wait for the Abit board, Abit do a far better job than ASUS at designing quality mobos.

I got the asus K8V Deluxe today.
I called up our local Abit distributor and I have been informed that the K8V Max3 will be in mass production in early November and it will only release in Hong Kong my mid November. That is a month away.
So I will try the Asus K8V Deluxe first and then try the Abit K8V Max3 later.

How to remove the socket retention on the Asus K8V Deluxe?
I removed the black thing already but there is a metal plate at the bottom of the motherboard.
How do I remove that?
I want to install the Zalman heatsink.
