Tanks to Duniek I receive 2 1336 mounting kits for my Cascades..
First I want to see how far can my I7 965 go on the silent Mini-Cascade (2 Vapochill 404a Compressors)
Setup:
- I7 965EE 3835A538 - Vcore 1.52v
- Asus Rampage II Extreme
- 3 DDR3 Sticks Cellshock 14400 - VMem 1.80v

SuperPI 32M @ 5.100Mhz - 4 Cores
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/I7965_5100_spi32m.JPG
SuperPi times not optimized and keeping vcore and unclok mem speed low for now...
Also did a run of the hard CPU test on 3Dmark2006 with 4 Cores + HT enable...

Not to bad - this sure will improve in the big rotary cascade and with more VCore..
Hope will pass Vantage at near 4.9GHz
That's it for now ...

Great stuff Pedro  Nice 1M run, for a not-optimised one ;)
32M yeah, has a lot of room for improvements :)
Hope will pass Vantage at near 4.9Mhz
I hope you mean 4.9GHz :p: 'Cause that would be a disaster (an i7 cpu that can't pull off Vantage CPU test @ 4.9MHz, is absolutely non-acceptible :D)
4.8GHz 3D Mark 06 is nice :yepp: Maybe 5GHz+ on your monster cascade ?

Heheh ..sure 4.9Ghz :D
Thanks.. corrected
Sure there is room for improvement in Superpi times :yepp:

Well not bad, it pass Vantage CPU Test at 4.8GHz in the Mini-Cascade:
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/I7995_4800VantageCPU.jpg
This bench is really very hard for the mini-cascade - evap temps droop from -90ºC to 65ºC :eek:
Seems I need to mount this setup on the big rotary cascade - 1366 mounting kit assembled ..let's see how far it goes since the noisy rotary hold much better the load on quad cores
Heres is a photo of the rotary cascade evap with mounting kit

Finally here is a WPrime 32M with 8 threads

That's it for today ..;)

Oh ... hadn't seen that bad-ass dual stage cascade of yours on action, for a long time ! Nice wPrime run Pedro
Time for some 3D Mark testing now ... :yepp:
2k1 though, isn't getting any better with these CPUs :(

More than 40K - not bad for 2 stock green cards :)
Aquamark

No problem runnig this bench at 5.1GHz even with 4 cores + HT;)
As you may already know - 2001 it's not a game for I7 - 180.xx drivers does not like Nature at all
Next I will do some Vantage - need to install a clen Vista and the 3rd GTX280 for Tri-SLI, let's see how far can it go
:)

thx for updating again Pedro, sweet work 4 sure
wow this looks great pedro - interesting reads about 8 threaded heat :D :D :D show one 01 only please...just to know how bad it sucks ;) 1m is also not a good game with this platform but 32m is killer

Very nice clocks, haven't seen many 5.2+ benches on i7 so far. :)
Would be nice to see a tweaked 32M-run. :yepp:

Hi my german friend :)
I think it's not only 32m that is a killer with the I7 - better check this :

:D:D
oh buddy I totally missed this is '05 280GTX SLI record  sometimes I need a little slap to realize it's time to change :D (oh man for our US friends - hope obama reads this  :ROTF: )
good to see you on top again :toast:

Sorry to spoil the thread but i`m very very happy atm with the performance....
Pedro remember?same batch here...:D
load temps ~ -44C...simple phase change cooling here..
1.275Vqpi,1.84Vdimm..
CAS +1 from what cpu-z reads in each test..

11-29-2008, 05:14 AM
There is something I cant understand, Pedro Rocha is using a mini cascade and is hitting -65C on load and clocking to 5.2Ghz. Giogios is at -44C and is just closing in on 5Ghz
How can someone on air be benching at 5.0Ghz
Cherry picked CPU or not, looks like there are other reasons for the 5.0 Ghz clock
Or everybody is getting bad overclocking CPUs, LOL, which I wouldnt believe is the case.
-- EDIT --
Soz for the offtopic, just noticed that Omega3 in the other thread is on LN2 and he is just passing 5 Ghz, that air clock just aint normal

Man congrats on those numbers.. nice HWBOT damage as well :D
@ Dino... I am able to run till -86 after which system shuts down!! 06 and vantage CPU tests @ 475X with -75.
Too bad chip goes back on Monday :(

Congrats Pedro, that's one good chip.
Nice 3D damage , keep it up :D

Heres is some improvements..
CPU still cooled by the silent mini-cascade :D
Superpi 1M at near 5.3G
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/Spi1m5276.JPG
And a better Superpi 32M
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/SPi32M-7-19.JPG
Not specially tweaked, need to learn a lot how to tweak superpi 32M with the wizzards from Team Japan :)
Also did an Aquamark run, result seems quite nice considering I'm using 2 stock GTX280's with very low OC (only 700 on core), here is the result:
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/363KAquamark.jpg
And 41K in 2005 - quite a respectable score for 2 stock cards :yepp:
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/41093-2005-gtx280sli.jpg
This retail seems not bad considering the cooling (evap temps around -88ºC load on superpi and lot worst on Vantage cpu test).
Just for fun, also I did some 3D action with 3 9800GTX's in TriSLI, I will post results later ...
;)

Yeah Pedro.. you have to learn some serious 32M tweaks and go to sub7min :D
Very nice result you've got there...
Waiting for 3way SLI results ;)

I Waiting 3way SLI too, it's realy good cpu Pedro Rocha!

12-19-2008, 07:07 PM
Seems my CPU really likes the 29 multiplier :D
Here is some results with CPU in the mini-cascade (evap at -88 on spi / -75 2006 - but very silent) :yepp:
Superpi 32M @ 5.200Mhz
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/SPi32M-7-13-5200.JPG
PIFast @ 5.200Mhz
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/I7965_PiFast-5200.JPG
Even run 3DMark 2005 @ 5.200Mhz :D - result with 2 Stock GTX280
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/41480-2005-i7965-5200.JPG
And now let's how it goes on 2006 with CPU test that is realy hard for the mini-cascade - max with 30x was 4.8GHz and with 29x I can run 2006 at 4.9GHz :)
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/30426-06-i7-4900-GTX280.JPG
9262 CPU test :D - hope it can also pass Vantage at 4.9GHz - maybe it will since the CPU test load on Vantage is similar to the load produce by the 06 test ..
What is killing my scores is DDR3 - do not have any fancy new Tri-Chanell kit, I'm still using 2x2 + 1 Cellshock 14400
Hello Corsair, need your help :D
Where is the best I can get for these old sticks:
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/I7965_ddr3_1970-1t.jpg
This weekend gonna try Tri-SLI let's see how far it goes..
The CPU seems quite nice for a retail :D

wow~~~nice. I still cannot believe your chip is so good.
Great chip and a great cascade :)
That 32M is going to go crazy when you tweak it up and run tri-channel

your chip seems to be going better and better?
i wish mine goes the same....
currently stuck at ~5100mhz...
wow that most impressive 965 retail chip there :woot: tri sli will be fun to watch :D
Nice man, try it with the big cascade :D.
