After hours in PCLab.pl ... two guys (yotomeczek and xoqolatl) tried to OC Nehalem CPU

Specs :
- MB: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 (ASUS Rampage II Extreme didn't run properly  )
- CPU: Core i7-965 Extreme Edition ES
- Mem: OCZ OCZ3P18002GK DDR3-1800MHz (3 x 1 GB), Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D DDR3-1600MHz (3 x 2 GB), Corsair TWIN4X2048-1800C7DF (2x 1 GB), and one OCZ DDR3 1800 (to match triple channel with two Corsairs)
- SS: evap IDLE -66 degrees and -56 when LOAD with Pi :) (wPrime was to hard to keep temp below -40 )
- PSU: Tagan 1300W

You know the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5, socket area is unpossible to insulation. So xoqolatl took off part of the LGA1366 socket :)

Now it's much better :)

CPU we get in hands wasn't briliant when we talk about OC :ROTF:
But it wasn't so bad.
Max screen:

And ... max SuperPi :welcome:

Best 1M in Poland (I suppose)

16M (with higher clock time was worse )

32M Nice performace/clock

Of course we have a few problems but Nehalem OC is very exciting
BTW we tested in PCLab.pl 7 motherboard LGA1366 (Intel X58) - You can see the charts at least ;)

THx :)
Some charts from 7 x Intel X58 test (http://pclab.pl/art34282.html):

Max BCLK - OCCT tested 10 minutes (5MHz step, 1.45V Vcore and 1.45V Vtt, 1.75V Vmem):

And max CPU (1,45V Vcore set in BIOS and 1.45V Vtt, 1.75V Vmem)

Vcore set and real (set 1.45V in BIOS, taken from CPU-Z, pink is load, blue is IDLE):

Nice :)
Is it easy to remove ?
We used to use a sheet of armaflex (about 9mm thick)

Maybe net time with another CPU and another mobo :)
It's strange (after some E8x00 and other Intel CPU OC experience) that with Nehalem it's not big different between 1M stable and 32M stable ... SS screen is about the same as Pi stability.

Nice results there :), I had the same conclusion.
Or there is more in the cpu or the diffences between Superpi 1m and 32m is almost nothing. Difference here is only about 50Mhz.

Nice idea with capacitors on the back side. Did you add the 3 caps, or just moved them from the front to the back?
